A day at Park Street Academy
begins in "Cubby Cove"
where you and your child will greet friends and store belongings.
From here, it's quick good-byes as children head off to start
their day. Children are greeted and welcomed into their
home-base classroom by their teachers.
The school day starts with
"Circle
Time," a time to discuss
matters of importance, share thoughts and plan the day.
Daily circle time activities include the alphabet, numbers, shapes,
calendar and weather. Song and movement are used to express
and reinforce these concepts. There's plenty of room in the hallway
for kids to travel to different theme classrooms throughout the
day.

Students
may have a science lesson in Newton's
Orchard, our science center,
or create an arts and crafts project in Picasso's
Place.
Imagination Station,
our dramatic play area, provides an opportunity to role-play grown-up
jobs as well as explore their world through the art of pretend.
Learning
Lab is the perfect place for
cutting, drawing, puzzles and other manipulative toys and activities
that help to develop fine motor skills. Our
Computer Room has nine Macintosh computers and is filled with
plenty of educational software. Structured physical activities
and free play take place in our spacious, fenced-in play yard,
or in Jellystone Park,
our multi-purpose room. Jellystone is also the location of special
school events and afternoon enrichment programs such as music,
gymnastics and dance. After all this excitement, children sit
down together to eat lunch
and socialize. Those who stay for the afternoon may rest or nap.
The remainder of the day is filled with organized games, free
play, computers, story time and Kids'
Clubs!
Parents are encouraged
to read about their child's day on the "Today
We" boards in the hallway.
